“I have recently got a new Icebreaker for parties. What is similar between Steve Jobs and me ? We’ve both lost years of college . cries in alone .’

So , what happened , in simple words COVID, our college got closed in January of last year, where it still has not been opened. Mainly a college life contains like 80% studies, somewhere around 20% fun. However ,we were bereft of that.

The scene of Shawshank Redemption where Morgan Freeman talks about being institutionalized I feel the same as I have been in home for the last 1.5 years.

The same could be said that happened for college students around India. Since the plague spread relentlessly around the country. It also quarantined all the students in their homes. Those who were fortunate to have so , without worrying about the daily supplies.

While it can be argued that even that our whole country suffered deeply , on the personal level I have lost many human interactions and even gatherings whether it be friends or family. The fleeting connections which I had made in college with people I had met over just 6 months are all but broken.

The online classes , in which either the teacher speaks or a children became quickly tedious and even tiring to attend. Since recently a policy came from the university I study in , for removing the attendance to be taken in consideration of semester marks. More students have started bunking the online lectures. Since we also get online recordings from the teachers.

The college students are still in anticipations of when the college is going to open. It seems that perhaps in this December , they might open up. But still there is no news on that part . However, the country is slowly getting on its feet and perhaps there may soon come a time where we may not have to wear masks .

But on a more positive note,

I started completing many courses on platforms like Coursera or Udemy . And even completed the Scrimba Frontend Path which felt great and taught me a lot. I am currently learning the MERN stack and starting creating a full-stack application.

I reduced a lot of weight since I primarily only eat homemade food these days. Since the opening of gym , I have working out around 5 days a week and have made exercise a part of my routine.

Starting working at my family business , to learn the secrets of the trade. So , it has also taught a lot about selling and buying different commodities. I have learnt a lot in the previous year and I hope that you have to .
